rain-collecting sustainable architecture

ryszard rychlicki and agnieszka nowak are architectural students from poland who proposed a "capture the rain" skyscraper for the 2010 skyscraper competition. the roof and external shell would consist of a huge gutter system aiming to capture and process rainwater for its inhabitants. the average person consumes 150 liters of water per day, and 85 of those liters can be replaced by rainwater. under the roof of this building would be reservoirs acting as a water treatment unit which would make the water usable and transmit it to the people in the building. any surplus would be stored in a second reservoir below the building.
