l’homme qui marche I by alberto giacometti sold at sotheby's today for £65,001,250. this made it the most expensive piece of art ever sold at auction. bidding started at £12 million and reached £65 million after only 8 minutes and furious bidding by at least 10 bidders. it was sold to an anonymous telephone bidder and it's former owner was commerzbank.
